The Extended Aeration Activated Sludge (LAAP) and Conventional Activated Sludge (LAC) treatment systems reduce the organic load of effluents without requiring large installation areas. Treatment efficiency is due to the longer biomass retention time, and the system can also be adapted to perform denitrification and phosphorus removal for certain types of effluents.
